What is carpaccio actually?
Surely you’ve heard of the appetizer carpaccio. This appetizer originated in Italian cuisine and traditionally consists of paper-thin slices of raw meat, often beef or tuna, drizzled with a light marinade of olive oil, lemon, salt and pepper. This dish is known for its tenderness and rich flavor of raw meat presented in thin slices.
In recent years, however, carpaccio has evolved to accommodate different culinary preferences and dietary needs. A popular vegetarian option is Zucchini Carpaccio, which uses paper-thin slices of zucchini in place of meat and is served with a variety of fresh herbs, nuts and dressings to create a light yet flavorful appetizer.
Thanks to the fiber, vitamins and minerals in the vegetables and dressing, the vegetarian version of carpaccio contributes to your longevity and vitality. Besides, zucchini has a lot to offer. Due to the fact that zucchini consists of 90% water, it helps your body to hydrate. Plus, this vegetable contains antioxidants like beta-carotene and lutein, which can help reduce cell damage from free radicals and promote your longevity.
All these reasons, together with the freshness and lightness of this dish, make it an ideal choice for warm days and offer you a healthy and tasty option for a balanced diet.
