Gluten free – Vegan – Anti-inflammatory

Before we turn to the super easy recipe, let’s take a look at what makes these gluten-free brownies so perfect. Whether as a dessert, a snack in the evening or for breakfast, they just always fit.

Why we love this peanut butter banana brownie recipe

Aside from the fact that this recipe is so simple that really anyone can make it, each of the three ingredients also has a longevity bonus, making it perfect for those sweet cravings in between.

1. bananas

One large banana contains 1.5 grams of protein, 3.5 grams of gut-friendly fiber and about 500 milligrams of potassium (a mineral that helps regulate fluid balance, promote normal blood pressure, digest carbohydrates and more). The big difference here from regular candy is that it regulates blood sugar and doesn’t make it jump up and down.

2. Peanutbutter

Two tablespoons of peanut butter contain a full seven grams of vegetable protein, 1.5 grams of fiber and about 16.5 grams of fat – a large part of which is an omega-9 fatty acid, which is a healthy fat and good for your heart. It also contains vitamin E and polyphenols, both of which strengthen your immune system and help fight inflammation.

Any kind of nut butter and healthy fats has the wonderful effect of providing you with healthy fatty acids, without which vital processes cannot take place. At the same time they saturate and prevent cravings. So if you prefer to eat almond paste, for example, feel free to use that as well.

3. Cacao

Cocoa is one of the main ingredients that gives this recipe the delicious, chocolate flavor. But cocoa is not only delicious, it is also rich in minerals such as magnesium, iron, zinc and potassium, as well as a good source of protein, fiber and healthy fats.
All these minerals are important for your bones and muscles.

But that’s not all, besides that it also contains antioxidants and polyphenols, which have an anti-inflammatory effect. You see chocolate is not what is unhealthy, but what is often made of it, with lots of sugar and milk.

This recipe has all the macronutrients you need, so they’re the perfect little snack for breakfast or in between meals when you’re in desperate need of some healthy energy. Bananas and cocoa also have the wonderful benefit of being calming and having a positive effect on your sleep. Not bad for a recipe with 3 ingredients, right?
